Johann Lenhart Fuhr was my great-great-great-great-great-great- grandfather . John Foor was born in 1744 in Philadelphia county and he was the son of Johann Lenhart Foor who came from Germany to America in 1742. He furnished a pack horse for the Braddock Expedition,1755. John Foor married in1774 in Phildelphia county, served in Washington's Army during the Revolution, under Captains Drine and Shnyder and migrated to Bedford County, Providence Township about 1788. His son Lenoard was born 1779 and married 1810. He had eight children, his eldest son David born 1811 and married about 1835. David's youngest son was Simon Jasper Newton born 1847 and married Hannah Manspeaker,1865. Their son A.F.Foor of Evertt, was born 1873.George Fore born in 1765 was the second son of Johann Lenhart Fuhr.He married Catherine unknown last name and they had five children.1.George Fore Jr. born between 1765-17842.John Fore3. Mary Fore4.Catherine Fore5.Elizabeth ForeGeorge Fore live in Colerain Township and died in 1812. His will as recorded in the Will Book1,page 321, left his wife Catherine and children, John, George, Mary, Catherine, and Elizabeth Fore who married Jacob Philips. Some men who spelled their name Fore lived in Ayr Twonship.
Foor Family HISTORY
My family came from Germany and settled in Bedford County. They also lived in the different areas that surrounded Bedford County. To this day all of my relatives still live in Bedford County and all the little towns that surround the county.There is a cementry in Breezewood that all the family is buried in.
