U.S. declares war on Germany ending neutrality.

Just days after Wilson's famous Congressional address, on Apr. 6, 1917, the U.S. declared war on Germany.  U.S. involvment in World War One came at a crucial time when the Allied forces were in trouble, following years of entrenchment along the western front.  It would be a necessary step towards the final armistice solution.
