Obituary: Funeral services for Llewellyn O'Lay, 53, of 2757 East Falls Street, Niagara Falls, NY, were held Thursday morning at the Spallino Funeral Home with the Rev. Edward A. Black of the Niagara Community Church officiating. Interment was in Riverdale Cemetery, Niagara Falls. He died in Mount St. Mary's hospital, Niagara Falls, on Monday, March 5th. Mr. O'Lay, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul O'Lay, was born in Johnsonburg, was graduated from Johnsonburg High school in 1938, moved to Niagara Falls in 1945, and was a member of the Bricklayers Local No. 2 for 25 years. He was married to the former Beryl McVeigh. A veteran of World War II, he served with the U.S. Army, was stationed at Camp Murray and Fort Lewis, Washington, left from San Francisco for the tropics in December, 1941. In 1942, he was assigned to Wheeler Field, Hawaii, and served from 1942 to 1944 in the South Pacific as a Corporal in Company F, 161st Infantry. Surviving are his wife, three daughters, Janice, Mrs. Richard Waterstam, Karen, Mrs. Richard Robins, and Miss Raewyn O'Lay all of Niagara Falls; three sisters Mrs. Lillian Babcock and Florence, Mrs. Michael Finitz both of Niagara Falls, and Caroline, Mrs. James Jones of Johnsonburg; three brothers, Lawrence O'Lay of Bradford, Paul O'Lay of Youngstown, NY, and Charles O'Lay of Wilson, NY, and two grandchildren. Mrs. James Jones, Mrs. Frank Gabor and Gerald Gabor of Johnsonburg were among those attending the funeral.
