From Oxford, North Carolina. The family owns a farm there. Harold Lloyd won a case against the Railroad in NC and had to flee because his life was then threatened. Listed as mulatto on most census lists. Martha Lloyd has left an orphan when her father left NC for Georgia. She later married Theophilus E. McKinney, Sr., who became Dean of Johnson C Smith University. They lived on Douglas St in Charlotte, NC. A beuatiful street with 2 and 3 stories houses owned by "coloreds", as they called themselves. She was well traveled and had many artifacts in the house. The houses there were leveled to make room for the off ramp of the highway there near Beates Ford Road. and the college.
