The snow began falling Friday, Feb., 5th about noon. People in the DC/Baltimore area were generally very alert and filled the local stores, till the stores ran out of almost all goods, to be had.
The snowstorm became gradually worse and unrelenting and is still BLIZZARD-though it's difficult to see the falling snow's size and speed right now as it is dark outside and there are very few out in this weather unless they must be.
The local Baltimore/Washington airport in Anne Arundel County closed down today, Feb., 6th, 2010. I have lived in or around DC/Maryland for many years and have never seen personally a storm this bad.
The cars in our parking lot are buried.
Almost everything is closed and the Governor, Martin O'MALLEY, has declared Maaryland, which seems to be the worst hit and the center of the storm a disaster area and only needed vehicles are suppose to be on the roads
THAT INCLUDES THE HIGHLY TRAVELED I-95, ONE OF THE MOST TRAVELED ROADS IN THE US.
The snow iss still comming down and where I am currently Anne Arundel County, Maryland is suppose to get yet another storm on Tuesday.
Hope that this storm will be at least, in part cleaned up by then.
Many in Maryland, DC and surrounding states i.e. VIRGINIA, are without electricity.
This storm will indeed cause many problems and will be very costly, it has gone further north as well into PA and further north, at this time.
