March 16, 2009 — Addison, TX
Doug Spray is a 36 year old Firefighter/Paramedic for the Town of Addison Fire Department in Addison, Texas. He was hired in March of 2003 and has been a tremendous asset to the Department with his knowledge, skills, ability and sense of humor.
In June of 2005, Doug was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer that is primarily attacking his spine and lungs. Doug has undergone numerous forms of treatment to fight this cancer. The treatment even included advanced treatment and clinical trials at MD Anderson. Although Doug has been strong and aggressive, maintained a positive” no quit” attitude and fought each small battle every day, this Stage IV level cancer continues to progress and run its course through his body.
Without fail, Doug has been faithful to his shift work and his brothers at the Addison Fire Department, his family and two beautiful young children. He has never asked for special consideration, favors or a helping hand. We now have the opportunity to contribute to Doug’s fight by donating blood in his name when he needs it the most. Please find the time in your schedule and ask your friends to come with you to the Town of Addison’s Fire Station 1 to donate blood through Carter Blood Care. We need all of your help and support for Doug.
Please post this request and share it with your family, friends and co-workers as soon as possible. Each member of the Addison Fire Department and Doug’s extended family thank you for your help.
