Peter Wykowski

Services for Peter Wykowski, 42, of 5061 N. 24th Place, will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Wendler funeral home, 2031 W. Capitol Dr., and at 10 a.m. at St. Nicholas church. Burial will be in St. Adalbert's cemetery. The body is at the funeral home.

Mr. Wykowski died unexpectedly Wednesday at the county general hospital of a respiratory failure arising from polio. He was stricken Aug. 14 with the bulbar spinal paralytic type of the disease. He was put in a respirator at South View hospital and was moved to the county hospital when his condition improved.

Recently he had been out of the respirator for lengthy periods and had progressed to the point where he was sitting and standing. He had received therapeutic treatments the day before he died.

Wykowski, a panel wireman for the Square D electrical controls company for the last 24 years, was born in Wisconsin Rapids. He came to Milwaukee about 25 years ago.

Survivors are his wife, Genevieve; three daughters, Barbara, Alice and Geraldine; his mother Mrs. Alexander Wykowski; three sisters, Misses Martyna, Joanna and Michalina, and a brother Henry. All are Milwaukee residents.
