    fc. Daniel Splann of Schenectady, NY left high school to enlist in the US Marine Corps in 1942. Serving with Co. D, 1st Battalion, 22nd Marines, he was wounded in action on 19 February 1944 at Eniwetok and died of his wounds on 21 February 1944.
