William Edgar Price was born on February 25, 1922 in Empire City, Oklahoma to Alvin and Marie Dean Price who were both born in Oklahoma. His father worked for a Pipe Line Company. William was the oldest of three sons including Frank and Jack.

He had enlisted in the United States Army Air Forces and served during World War II. Price had the rank of Sergeant. Service number assignment was 18109226. Attached to 34th Bomber Group, Heavy, 7th Bomber Squadron as a Waist Gunner.

Price lost his life on D Day June 6, 1944. He was the Waist Gunner on the crew of B-24 Liberator #41-28838 "Misery Agent" on a mission towards Normandy on D-Day on Operator Overload. They ran out of fuel and crashed into the trees and burned near the English coast killing 7 of the 9 crew members on board. Two died days later. They were still carrying twelve 500lb bombs at the time.

William E Price is buried at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas. This is a National American Cemetery administered through the Department of Veteran's Affairs.
