illiam G. Thrasher fought for the Union in the Civil War, he enlisted in Co. K, of the 1st Alabama Cavalry on the 4th of May 1863. He was captured near Fayetteville, North Carolina on the 10th of March 1865, and was confined at Richmond, Virginia on the 29th March 1865. He was paroled at Bulware & Cox's Whart on the 30th March 1865, and was discharged at Camp Chase Ohio on the 12th June 1865.
