Each volume includes rosters of soldiers in the New York National Guard (NYNG) and, depending upon the year, the volume may include documents and reports of federal agencies, photographs, notes on flight and ground training, personnel, and organizational charts. Volumes from the Civil War era are prolific and particularly interesting with statistical tables, battle reports, and telegraph transcripts.
