British University Rolls of Honour 1914-1918
The First World War interrupted the studies of thousands of young men and women, and many of these individuals, as well as their lecturers and professors, would ultimately serve in His Majesty's forces.
This collection draws on rolls of honour subsequently published by Aberdeen University, Cambridge University, Durham University, Edinburgh University, London University, Manchester University and Oxford University.
These rolls list not only those who died in the service of their country, but those who served it in some capacity. In addition, men who were educated at Eton College are also included. In all, there are over 60,000 names recorded in this collection, the vast majority of these individuals having served as officers in the British Army.
