Dennis Maginot was born on March 4, 1786, in Newtown, Fairfield County, Connecticut to John Maginot and Hannah Foot (Foote) Maginot.

It is unknown when the family changed their name to Mozena.

March 4, 1827 Dennis Mozena married Sally Brown in Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia

They had two children. Mary Mozena was born on August 4, 1808 in Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia.

Lewis was born on August 8, 1809 in Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia.

Dennis became a widower when Sally passed away on August 10, 1810. Leaving him to raise two toddlers on his own.

When he enlisted in the Virginia Militia in the War of 1812 his parents John and Hannah became his children's care givers while he was at war.

In much later years he told his grandson Fleming Harrison that himself allong with his two Uncles Jesse and John Harrison were fighting in the Sandusky Plains and Swamps and Fleming relayed the story to my grandmother while he was alive. He served in Connell's Militia in the 1st Regiment. He was inducted as a private and was a private at time of discharge.

After his father passed away in 1830 his mother lived with him and they keep house until he remarried a twice time on March 4, 1827 to Rachael McClain (aka Mc Clane) in Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia.

Dennis Mozena is the founder of the small town of Claringtion Ohio located in Monroe County. It sits off State Route 7 on the along the Ohio River.
