I wish I had known Uncle Byron better. The main things I remember about him was that he was tall (over six feet), quite thin, had neatly slicked back thin white hair, blue eyes, and a tremendous sense of humor. There was a boyish impishness still crackling behind those blue eyes of his which made it quite easy to believe some of the stories I heard concerning him after his death.

There are two I remember the best, as told by his cousin, Lowell (or "Toad") Graham. The first one was along these lines: When they were kids during the Depression, Byron and Toad would amuse themselves be-times by throwing tomatoes at passing trains!

The second displayed even worse devilry…the two mischievous cousins occasionally stole a neighbor's chicken, sold it (to whom I have no clue), and used their ill-gotten proceeds to by candy!
