Drafted for 3 years Army service in 1943 until 1946. Attended Engineer Replacement Training at ERTC Fort Belvoir, Virginia in the summer of 1943...an 8 to 12 week Army Engineer course.
Selected for duty in Oak Ridge, TN as part of Manhattan Project.
Entire career after military service spent in Richland, WA working for Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) and related organizations as an engineer and manager. One of only 170 people to serve continuously during the entire 27-year history of the AEC.
Held professional engineer certification. Was also a patent holder and a civilian pilot.
