WW2 Army Air Corp Service

Roy was inducted into the Army Air Corp on Dec 30, 1942 and started his active duty on Jan 6, 1943.  He completed 1 month of AAF Basic Training, completed 12 weeks of training  at the Army Ordnance Training Center in Aberdeen, MD where he was trained for machinist capabilities. He was a Pvt for 1 month, a Sgt for 11 months and a S/Sgt for 22 months. He was the shop foreman with the 597th Air Engineering Squadron, 381st Service Group, in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater, in both India and Burma, serving 14 months overseas. He was discharged from the service on March 6, 1946 at Camp Chaffee, AR.
