Huey Elmer Pierce (Pearce) was born in Clearfield County, PA on December 14, 1921.

He is the son of Benjamin Franklin Pearce and Mary Elizabeth Gillen Pearce.

Father of Kenneth Manuel, Huey Elmer, Jr., Robert Leroy, Belinda Lucille, Susan Louise, William Clark, Kathleen Johanna - all Pierce's and all California natives.

He worked in the coal mines along side his father and brothers, but decided early on that he did not want to inherit the title coal miner, so he changed his name from Pearce to Pierce and joined the U.S. Army. After being honorably discharged from the Service, he settled in Southern California for almost the remainder of his life.

Once dad realized that his life was coming to a close, he decided to move back to Arcadia, Indiana County, Pennsylvania, so that he would be buried with his father and mother and brothers and sisters. He was laid to rest at Rowley Cemetery in Hillsdale, PA near his residence of Cherry Tree, PA.

He is buried as Huey Joseph Pierce, (Also known as "Hood" in PA and "Joe" in California). Although the name he used was not his birthname, he was interred using the name he preferred. Born: Dec. 14, 1921; Passed February 23, 2000
