Dean Joined the US Army Air Corp as an Aviation Cadet on 30 Oct.1941.   He was assigned to the 17th Bomb Group [Training of the Doolittle Raiders]  While there, he flew as a Pilot of the B-25 Mitchell #41-12942.  Not chosen as a Raider, he none-the-less stayed with the Raiders after their return and was placed in the 310th Bomb Group whose original Cadre' was made up mostly of Raiders.

_ Dean Dreamel was in the 1st Over-seas NORTH ROUTE Crossing and remained from Sept. 1942 to Sept. 1943 in the Mediterranean Theatre of Operations, N Africa/Corsica.  WWII.  Oversea's duty starts with MEERIE England, Dean arrived England in Oct. 1942 in the Flight Echelon of NEW B-25's with Doolittle Raiders Capt R.R. "Hoss" Wilder, Lt Howard Sessler, and many others._

Next mention of Dean is Sunday, 20 Dec. 1942.......... Page 42   A two and 1/2 hour flight to where the Group and Squad Commanders are to lead the [mostly Doolittle Raider's] Bower, Braemel, Hinman, Hoover, Hunter and Wilder .... 12 ships apiece the 1300 mile trip to Oran, French Morocco.
