Stories

He was in the Pacific campaign and was on Bataan among other islands. He contracted malaria.

Loama could swim like a fish.  During the war as they were being transferred from the ship to an island they were receiving enemy fire.  The landing craft he was in was flipped over during the attack.  Loama swam down from under the craft and emerged.  We don't know if anyone else survived this.  He served on many of the islands and he survived malaria but it damaged his health afterward.
