Joe F. Walters, Retired Air Force Lt. Colonel, 92, of Gainesville, Ga., passed away on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015, following a long illness.

Joe retired from the Air Force with 22 years of service. After retirement, he was employed as the Vice President of GA Loan & Trust Company.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Claudia Fennell Walters and Joseph Shirley; his son, Frank Walters; his sisters, Edith Tumblin and Eva Mae Dinkla.

He is survived by his wife Irene; daughters, Irene (Willa) Bryant, Kathleen (Steve) Baugh; and son, Kenneth Walters; niece, Claudia Hardee; nephews, Walter Dinkla and Edward Varns.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015, at Little & Davenport Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Zachary Hoffman will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Gainesville, GA.
