(To 57th BW Historical Researcher John Fitzgerald) I never really knew anything about Dad's military career untill he died, and I got his papers. I was brought up in Ireland and England because Mom & Dad got divorced when I was quite young, and Mom moved back to Ireland. So having started out American (living on Air Force bases) I became Irish/English and had no contact at all with my American family until about 1991. By the time I met Dad (and my aunts and cousins) again he was already living at the US Soldiers' and Airmen's Home in Washington DC.

I have attached a few more items with this mail and I'll sift through the military documents I have from Dad and forward anything I think might be of interest. Don't worry, I won't feel in any way offended if you don't want to use items. I have his log book of bombing raids which I find fascinating, especially as I have a friend whose Italian husband's family comes from one of the villages he bombed.

The picture of Mom & Dad was taken in England (Margate, I think) where they met in the early 50's. Dad was stationed in East Anglia and Mom had come over from Ireland to find work in England.
