A graveside service for J. Dewey Schell, 87, will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Ocean View Cemetery with members of the Eagles Lodge officiating. Mr. Schell died Monday, Jan 5, 1987, in Port Angeles. He was born in Nuckolls County, Nebraska on Jun 19, 1899 to Franklin and Minnie Schell.
Mr. Schell moved to Port Angeles in 1920 from Avon, Idaho and was a maintenance worker for the city of Port Angeles until his retirement. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and was one of the organizers of the Port Angeles Salmon Club in 1934. His first wife Zelma Bennett, died in 1954. In 1956, he married Ida Konopaski. She survives in Port Angeles. Other surivors are a son, Alfred Schell in Arizona; a stepson Clarence Konopaski, of Wisconsin; two stepdaughter, Rita Kelly of Port Angeles and Phyllis Wallgram of Louisiana; numerous grandchildren; one great granchild; a rother Ernest Schell of Soap Lke and a sister Hazel Ecker of Tacoma.
Memorials are suggested to the Eagles Cancer Funds, 110 S. Penn St, Port Angeles, Wa 98362. Harper Ridgeview Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
