Deseret News, (2 Feb 1995), Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Edythe May Dazley Cracroft, 86, ended her earthly sojourn on Friday, January 27, 1995 at the home of her daughter in Orem, Utah.

She was born June 13, 1908 in Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, England to Elihu and Maud Harriet Webb Dazley, and immigrated to Utah at the age of two.

She lived in Croydon, Utah for six years before coming to Salt Lake where she attended Salt Lake City schools.

She married Edwin Deppe Cracroft on January 15, 1941 in the Salt Lake Temple, who preceded her in death in 1975. They raised their family in Salt Lake City.

She is survived by daughters, Lorraine (Ted) Thaxton of Orem, and Kathy Bradford of Oceanside, Calif.; and sons, Glen Cracroft (Joy) of Draper and Paul Cracroft (Loyda) of Bountiful. She was also preceded in death by daughter Donna Bethers (Howard). She has 18 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters, Gertrude Lund of West Valley City; and Naomi Hahn of Salt Lake City; and by many loving nephews and nieces.

She worked for Margaret and Alexander Schreiner prior to her marriage and later at the Lion House, J.C. Penney Co., Davis County schools and for Mrs. Cavanaugh's Candy Co.

She spent her entire life as an active member of the LDS Church.She expressed her love for her Savior through many acts of kindness and compassionate service she gave to all who knew her. She was indeed a friend to many people, both young and old. She served in many capacities in the LDS Church in Salt Lake City, Orem and Bountiful, where she currently resided. Two of her most memorable callings were as Relief Society Pres. (8 years) in the 30th Ward, Temple View Stake in Salt Lake City, where she was a leader in family relocation and cleanup during the 1952 floods, and her many years in the Salt Lake Temple. She also worked many years at the voting booth where she resided and she was an avid letter writer.

Her family thanks Dr. Peter W. Bossart, Dr. Vilija Avizonis, Dr. Elizabeth Prystas, the many nurses and aides of LDS Hospital, 8th floor East and the IHC Home Health nurses for their most caring service during her illness.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 4, 1995 at 10 a.m., in the Bountiful 13th Ward Chapel at 1400 North 600 East. Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, SLC, on Friday, February 3rd, from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the ward, 9 to 9:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
