He was one of the Minute Men in Capt. James Sawyer's Co., March and April, 1775, in service five days. In Captain Moses McFarland's Co., Col. Nixon's Reg., Sept., Oct., and Nov., 1776. He with others of the Artillery Co. volunteered Sept., 1777, to reinforce the Northern Army at Saratoga, in Capt. Nathaniel Marsh's Co., Major Gage's Reg., and served from Oct. 2, to Nov. 6, 1777. He was a house-holder in Haverhill, May 6, 1799, and was a maker of potters' ware. Removed from there to Plaistow, N. H., after their children were born, and lived two years; then went to Hopkinton, N. H., and lived three years; then to Concord, N. H. He was a Lieutenant in the war of 1812, and d. in Concord, Feb. 21, 1837. His widow, Elizabeth Stickney, was a Revolutionary Pensioner, June 1, 1840, when she was 82 years of age, and lived in Concord, N. H., with her son-in-law, Gershom Hanson. She died there Aug. 16, 1851.
