    Radioman Third Class Orvil Rudd was born on October 17, 1919, to William J Rudd and Ethel Vilate Nish in Plymouth, Box Elder, Utah. His siblings are Grace Pierson, Marie and Marlene Rudd, Rulon, and Clifford Rudd.

    He attended Bear River High School and entered the Navy on June 9, 1942. He served overseas for two years on the battleship U.S.S. Tennessee and was then transferred to another ship, the U.S.S. LaGrange in 1944.

    Orvil was reported to be buried in Okinawa, Japan on August 13, 1945, and later his remains were returned to Utah.

    Radioman Third Class Orvil Rudd’s memorial is in Plymouth, Box Elder, Utah in Plymouth Cemetery.
