Notes: Reports on "the annual reception of the German press" and speeches given there by minister of propaganda Dr. Paul Goebbels and Chancellor Adolf Hitler. The imminent promulgation of "a new press law" in Germany was announced, the law referred to as "Schriftleitergesetz" in Entry #3 above and also know as the Editors Law.[1] Hitler reportedly stated about the role of the press,

"At such a time as the present the highest duty cannot be criticism but rather the creation of unity of thought and will."
