Isaac was born in 1791 (sic). He enlisted in Captain John Naglee's Company of Northern Liberty Artillerists, PA on 1 Aug 1814 and was stationed at Camp Dupont until Nov. He was then in the artillery commanded by General Cadroallander and stationed at Lackets Harbor where he was ordered with the company by Col. Pervogue. He was honorably discharged at Phila. PA on 15 Jun 1815. He married Mary Louise Augustine in Phila. on 20 Jan 1816. From 1816 until 1823 he worked as a shipwright in Phila., living at Hanover near Queen in the Kingston section. They then moved to Cincinnati, Ohio and after living there for a number of years moved to Pittsburgh PA. He made application for and received 140 acres under the "Act Granting Bounty Land to certain officers and soldiers who had been engaged in the military service of the United States". He had a shipyard in West Elizabeth, PA where he conducted a very successful business until the flood of 1852, at that time he had three large steamers on the stocks, and the seasons timber in the river when everything was washed away including the mill. He retired to Belle Vernon, PA and lived there until his death in 1880.

footnote: According to family papers, Isaac before enlisting in the War of 1812 had been sent from Phila. to Erie as a ships carpenter to help in the building of Commodore Perry's fleet.
