BOUNDS , JAMES CRESTON Santee, CA - Pearl Harbor Survivor James Creston Bounds, 88, passed peacefully on Friday, September 3, 2010, following a sudden illness. Jim was born on July 26, 1922 at Big Creek, MS, prior to joining the U.S. Navy and serving 27 years. Jim is survived by his wife Ruby Jean (Galloway) Bounds; daughter Cindy (Bounds), Kimbley; two sons James L. Bounds, and George C. Bounds; five grandchildren April, Levi, Kenneth, Katie, and George; three great-grandchildren, two sisters, close friends and fellow Pearl Harbor Survivors. Lt Bounds is a veteran sailor of the U.S. Navy (August 1940 - July 1967) with service during World War II and Korean War. He served on the USS Oklahoma BB-37 at Pearl Harbor and USS Helena CL-50 during Guadalcanal, seven ships and five seaside ports. Viewing on Wednesday, September 15, 2010, 3 to 7 p.m. and a chapel Service on Thursday, September 16th, 10 a.m. at El Cajon-Lakeside-Santee Mortuary & Cremation Service, 684 S. Mol-lison Ave., El Cajon, CA. Honor Guard graveside services on Friday, September 17th, 1:30 p.m. Staging Area at the Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd. Riverside, CA.
