Joseph was one of 6 brothers and 2 sisters. There father is James Leeson (the farthest person on the right second role of the picture.) His mother was Anna Houser Leeson. The brothers names are Thomas, Don Carlos, Frank, Sam, Fred and the sisters names are Thelma and Margaret.
Joseph Dickenson Leeson was born June 18, 1898, in a log cabin west of Garrett and was destined to become a member
of that famous gangbusters squad known as "The Untouchables". After serving four years in the navy during World War I, Joseph married Dorothy Watier and was the father of three children. Joseph Jr (Skip), Evelyn and Helen. He later divorced Dorthy. He worked as a boilermaker in the car shops for the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad at Garrett, but after being furloughed, he moved from Altona to Jackson, Michigan in July, 1926, and got a job repairing locomotives for the Michigan Central Railroad.
Mr. Leeson having higher aspirations for himself and his family, left Jackson December 13, 1928, and became a Prohibition Agent for the US Treasury Department. He first studied law at Detroit, Michigan, and having passed examinations at Angola, he was ready to go on to a highly dangerous venture in Chicago.
He and eight other aggressive young federal agents were hand-picked by their leader, Eliot Ness to become members of the squad known as "The Untouchables". This squad was formed to put and end to "Scarface" Al Capone and his mob corrupting Chicago during prohibition. Because of dishonest police and federal agents taking bribes, Capone had the free run of Chicago.
"The untouchables" were carefully screened for their honesty and bravery before being chosen by Ness. Joseph Leeson, thirty years old, was the oldest of the men and was famed throughout the service as a genius with an automobile. His ability as driver was almost
legendary. He could "tail" a suspect's car, drop off to avoid suspicion and unerringly pick up the other car again. It was reported by Judge Johnson in the Chicago American Newspaper that the "success of the raids was due to Joseph Leeson, and Eliot Ness". "The Untouchables",
Joseph seemed to have no fear busting through the doors of Al capone's breweries. Al Capon was finally convicted and sent to prison May 3, 1932, and thus the Untouchables were then disbanded. After Chicago he went to Cincinnati and became officer in charge of the Federal Alcohol Tax Unit. There were some other place that he was sent Hawaii and South America. Later he moved to San Francisco where he was when he past away.

He remarried July 17, 1941 Marie Eisle and they had two daughter Pamela and Linda Leeson.
