In honor and memory of George Lewis (Louis) Goad.

The Pictures and Records section contains a compiling of gathered information and records in honor of George Lewis Goad, 1 of approximately 140+ Goads that have been compiled that served in the Civil War. The intent was to create a lineage of all the Goads in the Civil War and then establish those battles they may have fought against each other. Five years later it blossomed into 1500+ pages and continues to grow as more information is located. The Memorial Page was a perfect way to share the information gathered with descendants of George Lewis Goad and to honor that soldier.

Note:

George's middle Name may be spelled Louis or Lewis. Both names have been indicated on records.
The 1880 census indicates his wife was Jane Wesson - this was a census error. The last name Wesson (actually Weason) was he daughter's married name (to Fredrick Weason). The last name was placed on George's wife name by mistake.George only had one wife - Elizabeth Jane Louisa Taylor.
Updated the bio page to rev B on 01-15-2017 correcting the error with Jane Wesson.
