Daniel Beeler b.1758 came to North Carolina Territory in April 1770 at the age of twelve with his father John Valentine Beeler. Lived on John's "Sapling Grove" plantation until he aquired a 100 acre tract near what is now Bristol, Tennessee. He appears on the 1796 Tax List for Sullivan County, Tennessee. Moves into Cherokee Lands during the Chickamauga War.

By Statehood of Tennessee in 1796, John V. Beeler 1737-1823 and sons Peter Beeler b.1767, Joseph Beeler 1762-1845, Daniel b.1758, have all moved west of Sullivan County to take up new planatations in Grainger and other counties as the result of the treaty with the Cherokees.

The old home place, "Sapling Grove", plantation complex consisting of over 1,700 acres near what is now Bristol, TN, is occupied by Jacob Beeler 1761-1842 and Joseph Beeler , Jr. b.1793. Joseph Beeler, Jr., is the son of Joseph Beeler 1762-1845.

Joseph Beeler, Jr., 1793-1814 dies of wounds received in the Battle of Horseshoe Bend March 27, 1814 and is buried in Alabama. His V.A. marker is on Find-A-Grave.

As was customary in the late 18th and early 19th century, John Valentine Beeler and the rest of his sons appear on the Tax Lists for Sullivan County Tennessee even though they live in other counties. Ulrich (Woolery) Beeler 1764-1805 occupied his grant filed on John V. Beelers original claim until he dies in 1805.

Daniel Beeler would have been one of the older children of John V. Beeler and would have been active from the outset of hostilities with the Cherokee in the Summer of 1776 through 1796. The Holston River settlements remained a target of the hostile Indian Nations for twenty years until the treaty with the United States ended the Chickamauga War.
