Drove Huns from Wheat Field

Sergeant Daniel S. Garvey, of No. ??? Second street, Brooklyn, is dead of wounds in France. He was twenty-three years old and a member of Company C., ???th infantry. He enlisted in the old Fourteenth regiment. Before joining the service he was in the Finance Department of the city. A brother, James, twenty-one, is in the navy. Sergeant James Healy of the same company, who was wounded, wrote to a friend who had entertained the soldiers near their camp in America, in which he said: --

"We were driving the boches out of a wheat field swept by machine guns and snipers' bullets, and it was a miracle how I got out alive. The day after Dan and Barry (another soldier) were killed I was gassed, but we drove the Germans back."
