According to Nathans Pension Application for the State of Texas, he had resided in Texas since 1875 and for a period of 31 years in Stephenville, Erath Co. He served in Company E, Regiment 7th Virginia Cavalry for a period of 4 years. Nathan was elected 2nd Lieutenant, promoted to 1st Lieutenant and was then Commissioned as a Captain for a period of two years.
