Captain Loyd A. Cox flew as an observer on this mission in which he was killed. He and the bombardier were in the forward aspect of the bomber when the aircraft was hit by flak in that section of the aircraft, killing Cox and severely wounding the bombardier, Lt. Stuart Jakku, who later died in Sweden.

The aircraft came down at the grass covered airfield in Jonkoping. Sweden. The surviving crew were interned at Mullsjo Internment Camp, Sweden. Apparently, the crew was later freed from internment on the 1st December 1944.

There is ittle information about this young man. He died in hospital in Sweden and was initially buried in Malmo. In September 1948, he was interred in Mound City National Cemetery, Illinois.

This was Mission # 133 to Politz, Poland for 7 October 1944. He was aboard B-17 (42-102905) from 457th Bomb Group, RAF Glatton, USAAF Station 130, Cambridgeshire, England.
