Great Godfrey Bischer Married to Lucinda Loftin

    Godfrey was Born 01 Dec 1818 abord a ship in the Atlantic Ocean son of Conrad Bescherer and Margaretha.. Godfrey Bischer was the oldest private in his unit Company F, 7th Regiment, North Carolina State Troops . Godfrey fought in several battles: Manassas, Harper's Ferry, Sharpsburg, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, and Gettysburg, and in the lesser known, but fierce battles of New Bern, Hanover Court House, Cedar Mountain, Ox Hill, and Shepherdstown. He was a prisoner of war several times. Great Godfrey Bischer fought along side Stonewall Jackson and A.P. Hill as they went into combat. He survived the war and passed away 01 Sep 1897.
