Biographical Sketch

    Private William N. Johnson was born ca. 1823.

    He enlisted in Captain Davidson’s Company on March 12th, 1862 at Quincy, Gadsden County, Florida.  He was listed as absent sick at Gadsden County for the period from his enlistment until June 30th.

    He returned to the company, but was detached for service on December 9th, 1862 with Knoxville City Police.  He served there until April 30th, 1863.  He was present with the company from that date until he went missing in action at Missionary Ridge on November 25th, 1863.

    His date of death and place of interment are unknown.
