Biographical Sketch

    Private Isham Crosby was born ca. 1840 in South Carolina.  In 1860 he was living near Starke in Alachua County, Florida at the residence of Jackson Reddish and family, who was a farmer of some means.  Isham’s occupation was shown as a laborer.

    He enlisted in Davidson’s Company on March 25th, 1862 at Rico’s Bluff, Liberty County, Florida.  He was present with the company until being detailed in November, 1862 as an orderly to Colonel Jesse J. Finley, commanding the 6th Florida Infantry Regiment.  He was sent for unknown cause, under Surgeon’s orders, to the hospital on October 29th, 1863.  He returned prior to January 1st, 1864.

    He died of unspecified cause on October 11th, 1864, and is interred at Rose Hill Confederate Cemetery, Macon, Bibb County, Georgia.
