ARRIVAL OF WOUNDED MINNESOTA SOLDIERS

The Sucker State, Captain Ward, arrived from St Louis Thursday evening having on

board-Captain Emil Munch, First Battery Minnesota Artillery, wounded at the Battle

of Shiloh, April 5th (1862).

“EXTRACT”

Captain Munch has suffered severely from his wound. He was hit by a round gunshot

ball on the left side of his right leg, about an inch above the knee, the ball

ranging upward and lodging some eight inches above in the fleshy part of the thigh,

where it still remains.

The SUCKER STATE (steamer), Captain Ward, arrived from St Louis Thursday evening

having on board Captain Emil D Munch, First Battery Minnesota Artillery, wounded at

the battle of Shiloh, April 5th, 1862. Captain Munch has suffered severely from his
