Frank and his wife Esther were friends of my Grandmother, Marion Hutchinson McAllister Bellamy, and were always dear to my Mom. As a child, I loved to go with Mom to visit them at their log home east of Mayville.

One highlight was to be allowed to visit their museum in another building in their back yard. It was filled with historical artifacts - which I only recognized then as 'fascinating things' - including a large collection of Frank's World War I mementoes. He had a mannequin dressed as a German soldier with a spiked helmet, European coins, guns, etc.

Frank and Esther were terrific people, very patient with children gaping in wonder at the unusual displays, and natural teachers, telling stories connected to the exhibits.
