Pvt John Riley Mann Army

ohn Riley served his Country in the Civil War, was wounded in action, and was held as a POW at the Anderson Prison known for it's terrible conditons. Physical abuse he received while there plagued him the rest of his life and he never fully recovered. An outstanding person, Honest and hardworking. He was 49 years and 11 months old at the time of his death. Records state: Civil War Veteran, Private, Company "C", 89th New York Infantry. Enlisted at Orange, New York on August 31, 1864. Wounded in action at Fair Oaks, Virginma. Discharged on August 31, 1865.
