Harold W. Lupton

    Harold W. Lupton was born Sept. 30, 1941 in Nampa, Idaho. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Utah State in 1963. He joined the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps in 1965. He graduated from Iowa State University in 1966 as a doctor of veterinary medicine. He earned a Master of Science degree in 1973 and Doctor of Philosophy in veterinary microbiology in 1979, both from Iowa State University. After completing his Ph.D., he was stationed at United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases at Fort Detrick, Md. In 1989, after 23 years of military service, he retired as a full colonel and decorated Vietnam veteran. He died June 4, 2005.
