Assigned to 20th Air Force, XXI Bomber Command, 313th Bomb Wing, 505th Bombardment Group (VH), 482nd Bomb Squadron, stationed at North Field on Tinian in the Mariana Islands (WPTO).

The B-29 struck the sea surface with the right wing after failing to gain altitude. Nine of the eleven crew killed. Two people rescued on a crash boat. The crew of B-29 #42-93890 were one of the last seven B-29 crews lost in combat during the war.
