George E. Dodge's Family


When Tec 5 George E. Dodge was born in 1922 in Wayne, Kennebec, Maine, his father, George, was 20 and his mother, Winiford E. [Palmer] Dodge, was 16. His parents were married on the 8th of May 1922 in Kennebec, Maine, He had three sisters, Agnes, Alice and Dorothy. George also had 2 half brothers.

His father and mother divorced and his father then married Glasys Messis Waller Dodge on the 14th Aug 1937 in Wayne, Kennebec, Maine they had Arthur 'Skip Dodge, and Thomas Edward Dodge. His step mother, Gladys Messis Waller was divorced from John B. Breton and they had two sons together, Adrian Royal Breton and John Pete Breton.

He enlisted into the Coast Artillery Corp [Coast Artillery Corps or Army Mine Planter Service] on the 13th of Dec 1940 in Kennebec Maine as a private. He was single without dependents.

He was promoted to Tec 5 and was asigned to the 895rd Antiaircraft Artillery Automatic Weapons Battalion when he was killed.

He died on August 15, 1944, in Rhone, France, at the age of 22, and was buried in Rhone American Cemetery and Memorial Draguignan Departement du Var Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, France
