He is Remembered

This is my great Uncle Walter John Porsch. My Grandmothers brother. Walter was blown up in a mortar attack on his unit. No remains were available to ship home, and he is buried with his fellow heros, in France. Margaret, my grandmother was the youngest child and Walter was her favorite brother. I am in possession of several letters they wrote to each other during the war. Including the last one returned, unopened. My father was named in his honor. Gone but not forgotton, Uncle Walter. [and all those Iowa boys that fell with you.]
