Anthony Joseph Jagiello

aster Sergeant Anthony Jagiello, enlisting in the U. S. Marine Corps in 1912, went to boot camp at Norfolk, Va. Upon completion of boot camp, he was transferred to guard duty at the Brooklyn, Navy Yard. From there he was assigned to the newly formed 1st Provisional Brigade and sent to Cuba. He then served as a 'pointer' aboard the battleship USS Minnesota and also served aboard the USS Connecticut. Sgt. Jagiello served in the American Legation Guard, , Nicaragua; two tours of duty in Port au Prince,Haiti (1926-28 and 1930-32) and then transferred to Quantico, Va., where he was stationed until his retirement in 1946, and moved to Winchester, Va. He was awarded numerous service medals, campaign ribbons, shooting badges and Expert Rifleman.
