LEWISTOWN - Lloyd M. Chambers, 90, of 310 S. Van Buren died at 3:35 p.m. Monday, Sept. 3, 2001, at the home of his daughter, Sue, in rural Havana. Born Feb. 26, 1911, in rural Table Grove to Jesse A. and Bertha M. White Chambers, he married Mildred Brush on July 7, 1933, in Havana. She died April 5, 1985. He married Elma Dickson on Oct. 20, 1985, in Havana. She survives. Also surviving are one son, David (and Joyce) of Lewistown; two daughters, Norma Pace of Havana and Sue (and Marvin) Roat of rural Havana; one brother, Jessie Jr. ''Jute'' of Lewistown; two sisters, Louise LaFary of Lewistown and Ruby (and Lloyd) Dean of Topeka; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Danny, in 1970. He had served as sexton for the Oak Hill, McNeil, Wright and St. Mary's cemeteries in Lewistown Township for 60 years, retiring in 1994. He also assisted at Zimmerman & Henry and Henry memorial homes in Lewistown from 1938 to 1983. In July 1989, he was named Citizen of the Month by the Lewistown Chamber of Commerce for his many years of service to the community. He was a member of Havana Church of the Nazarene. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown, where visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Lester Burgard will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to his church or Mason District Hospital Home Health Care in Havana.
