    LEWISTOWN -- Dean Ford, 69, of 316 S. Adams died at 9:29 p.m. Friday, June 26, 1992, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

    Born Sept. 24, 1922, in rural Lewistown to George A. and Mary Edith Brown Ford, he married Mary June Bennett on July 30, 1949, in Lewistown. She survives.

    Also surviving are two sons, Dean Lee of Lewistown and David Alan of St. Louis, Mo.; one daughter, Mrs. Susan Sherwood of Petersburg; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers.

    He worked for 36 years at Illinois Bell Telephone Co., retiring as a communications technician in 1982. He served for 12 years as a Lewistown city alderman and was a former Boy Scout leader.
    A World War II Army veteran, he was a member of American Legion Post 1 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5001, both in Lewistown, Illinois Bell Telephone Pioneers and the Lewistown Optimist Club.

    He also was a member of the Illinois Street Christian Church in Lewistown.

    Services will be Thursday at Henry Memorial Home in Lewistown. The Rev. Eugene Danner will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lewistown, where military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 1 and VFW Post 5001.
