25 April 1945 — Near Bedford, England
The attached photo is of Lt. James F Kromphardt - Navigator and Bombardier - and the crew from sqd. 407 (front row at the furthest right) in front of their B-17. The 92nd's motto was "Fames Favored Few." Lt . Kromphardt was in the Skoda Air Raid mission on April 25, 1945. He was in the lead plane for their squadron working the bombsite. The mission was a success - only losing one aircraft - and not only took out the Skoda facility, which was then being used to build arms for the Germans. but also wiped out the Pilsen brewing company, when it became a "target of opportunity."
