He married Mary Elizabeth Hylton February 22, 1880 in Chop Chestnut School House Powell County, KY, daughter of Jesse Hylton and Martha Montgomery. She was born 1857, and died October 21, 1897 in Antigo, Wisconsin (Langlade County).

2--"This is to certify, that on the 7th day of May, 1883, the Rites of Marriage were legally solemnized by me between Wiley J Curtis and Roann Sons at ____ in the County of Powell in the presence of Massengill Martin & Sonny Martin" Signed Talton Powell

Letter from The Wisconsin Department of Health & Social Services, dated October 10, 1977: From the Division of Corrections, Wisconsin State Prison in Waupun, Wisconsin, we learn that Almanzor received a ten year sentence but that his time was reduced. He was prisoner from October 12, 1897-January 22, 1904.

Notes for Mary Elizabeth Hylton:
Nine days before her death, while Mary lay dying of consumption (tuberculosis) and Almanzor was in jail, Langlade County Wisconsin authorities took the children by order of Judge M G Flanagan.

Louisabelle 12yrs (Ruth Belle Martin), VanAshman 8 yrs (VanAshley Martin) and Charles 3yrs were committed to the orphanage on Oct 14, 1897. (Lewis Martin, age 5 months not mentioned here).

1880 Census Powell County, KY--Mary lives with Almanzor, no children listed. They are next door to Priscilla and Vancouver Martin.

Lewis was 5 months old when he was placed in the Sparta Orphanage, he was taken from his ill mother nine days before her death.
Clifton Martin had written "Eliga Walranna Martin was born May 3, 1897".
Lewis was committed to the Wisconsin Industrial School for Boys Feb 1, 1906 by Langlade County Judge J W Parson.
Lewis went to Waukesha and hung himself on March 13, 1913 at 16 years of age. (Undertaker M A Preston of Elton, town of Evergreen).
