Lost Colony Genealogy & DNA Research Group

There have been some changes since my last article regarding the search for the Lost Colony. I am no longer affiliated with the Lost Colony Center for Science and Research (LCCSR) organization. However; I am now working with the Lost Colony Genealogy & DNA Research Group who have taken up the mantle to search for descendants of the Lost Colony. All who tested during the symposium have been able to review their results at http://www.familytreeDNA.com

The group’s Project Administrator is Roberta Estes of Brighton, MI. If you attended the DNA Symposium in Williamston last September you know that Roberta is the DNA expert who planned the symposium, pulling together several speakers, each of whom gave presentations in their specialty. Mrs. Estes presented a very interesting and informative program on DNA research as well.

As stated in their brochure: “This group’s goal is to combine history, genealogy and DNA to discover if any of the Lost Colonists (a) survived; (b) if those survivors have living descendants in the US and/or (c) if there are living descendants of any Lost Colonists’ siblings abroad. This project is unique because it brings together all of these disciplines in one organization and makes the research and contributed information publicly available online on our website.”
